Eco-Neighbourhoods Ōtara
Are you passionate about caring for the planet, but unsure where to start?
Eco-Neighbourhoods is here to help Ōtara residents turn climate concerns into local action.
We are looking for locals to join the programme! Empowering neighbours to work together on environmental projects. By forming a roopu (group), you can access the tools you need to make a real difference.
Some ideas from us -
Neighbourhood BBQ
Planting fruit trees or a garden, growing micro-greens, a neighbourhood garden
Cultural crafts, sewing, building, teaching, learning
Vegetarian cooking, immunity boosts, medicinal herbs
Bike maintenance,
Rain water collection tanks
Making your own cleaning products….
If you have an idea that supports the planet, we wanna hear it!
What you get:
Expert Help: Dedicated support from a facilitator to guide your projects.
Financial Support: Access to up to $1,000 annually to fund two local sustainability activities.
Community: Connection with neighbours who share your vision for a better Ōtara.
Don't have a group yet? You can register as an individual and we will match you with neighbours or an organisation in mind. Funding is available for a limited number of groups, so get in quick to secure your spot.
Let’s work together to create a sustainable future for our community.
