Three years of MANAVA for Climate Resilience

MANAVA for Climate Resilience turns three! In August, we invited all our friends to join us for our third anniversary. We shared memories, kai, and cake! Carrying the Matariki energy through, we reflected on the past three years and shared our goals for the next three to come. Some of these goals include having climate change information available for our youth, getting outside into the maara, working toward indigenous sovereignty, and continuing to meet each month. 

As we welcome the new season and approach Te Pahore o Rehua, we are working to plant the seeds of our next mahi. As our hue, tomatoes, and beans go into the ground, we plan grab bag workshops, learn about mutual aid economies, and prepare for El Niño! El Niño will bring a dry season to Aotearoa, and we encourage you all to keep an eye on MANAVA for ways we can adapt to our changing taiao. 

In September, we gathered to talk about the upcoming general election. We want to encourage all of you to make sure that you are enrolled and that your details are updated on vote.nz. Once you're good to go, help out your friends and whānau with their enrolment! We're happy to support our indigenous whānau having a say in their leaders here in Aotearoa. 

We are looking forward to a second cohort of 'Wayfinding for Climate Resilience' facilitators! Keep an eye on our socials for more updates. We know our indigenous mātauraunga is vital to world that supports us all, and we are excited to deepen our understanding in te ao māori. We are looking forward to continuing our mahi!
