Let’s Talk ‘Rubbish’

When I see a rubbish bin so full the lid can’t even close, it feels like a warning sign. A signal that things are a bit out of control. Life is busy, times are tough, and there’s so much going on that the last thing on our minds is rubbish.

And that’s okay because this is where we can help.

Through our Wastewise talks or as our Sera so perfectly calls it, “Ace the Waste”, we support homes, workplaces, churches, schools, and community events to bring a little order back into the way we deal with waste.

Together we take a closer look at what we’re buying and using. Are there simple swaps we could make? What small changes could reduce what ends up in the bin?

It’s not about being perfect. hIt’s about baby steps. Small, practical changes that Care for Creation while also bringing more calm and organisation to our spaces.

We’re here to share ideas, practical tips, and encouragement so that looking after our environment feels achievable for everyone.

Whakataukī:
“Toitū te whenua, whatungarongaro te tangata.”
The land remains while people come and go.

This reminds us that we are kaitiaki — Guardians of the Earth.  Even small steps today help protect the world for those who come after us.

If your home, workplace, church, or event would like support to ‘Ace the Waste’, we’re here to help. Let’s take those small steps together. 💚
