MANAVA for Climate Resilience with Tuvalu

Talanoa fakaasiga tātāga vaka kau toki lapana Nukulaelae Tuvalu.

Since the summer solstice, MANAVA has been making the most of the sun by being out in the community, engaging with our MANAVA Tuvalu. With projects like Toku Leo, Talanoa and Taste, and our Climate Resilience workshops, we continue journeying to our Hawaiki nui together. MANAVA Tuvalu has centred on using our mother tongues to create pathways to climate resilience because by being reo ki te leo, we are also whenua ki te fenua.

In this last season, we have also had our first two MANAVA nui sessions for 2026. These sessions have brought new hands-on deck for our MANAVA waka, whilst building deeper relationships with those who have travelled with us for longer. Our MANAVA Nui has focused on building skills with St Johns, joining us this March to teach us Three Steps for Life. With these skills, we equip our communities to build their own waka of climate resilience, engraved with the stories of their ancestors, so we can travel on a fleet on our return home.
