Mā te wā, e kare!
Weed or wig? Our brother Kristian at Puhinui Domain give back, Dec 2025
This guy…mana-fester, earth lover, Atua connector, and creator has left our shores. We have had the honour and privilege of having Kristian’s energy and zest for life at PVA over the last couple of years.
At our base at Boundary in Ōtara, he has mana-fested a mana-vai, his “wholly trinity” comprising of banana, taro and kūmara. He built rock beds for our tāpapa to grow tipū, our Hue waka to grow ancestral bottles, food containers and kākano, shared many rākau and kākano with us, grown healthy plants in our Ko’anga nursery, created the beautiful gardens and ngāhere kai as we know it today and innovated an ‘umu pit hybrid’ which we cooked a mouth-watering end of year kai in. All with hearty mana and his extra-ordinary mauri. A true Aries. Everything’s possible in his eyes. He brought just the right amount of masculinity in our female dominated team and we’re glad we held a safe space to channel his own femininity.
More than the ‘things’ he has real-ised for our community space, he shared with us his light and his darkness, brought us fully into the present, helping us receive insight and shown us a different perspective rooted in divinity, pulling us heart-first into the Māoriverse. Wednesday wānanga’s won’t ever be the same without you brother.
We have traversed the highs and the lows together and now the time has come for him to ride the ‘fire horse’ to the desert. We are forever grateful for time shared, recognising each other as divine beings, on our paths, letting go of what does not serve us. We love you brother! Mauri ora mauri āio. As he-bro would say, “See you when we’re looking at you!”.
