MANAVA for Climate Resilience 2025 Reflection
MANAVA for Climate Resilience is looking forward to the coming summer days. We have been blessed to work with our Pacific participants this year and continue to learn new things and share kōrero and kai together.
Tuvaluan leaders talanoa at one of our many sessions at LAKA.
Workshops have been a great cornerstone for our MANAVA nui (our larger whānau), and it has been awesome creating zines, learning about emergency responses, talking about grab bags, and more. Kai and kawhe are a big part of our connection, and we continue to invite new members or friends of MANAVA to LAKA to share kai and kawhe while we build relationships together.
The biggest part of our mahi at the moment has been connecting with our Tuvalu communities. We are excited to get to know them better and figure out what we can do to grow climate resilience together. We are building on our existing relationships and the journey with translating our website into Tuvaluan (Nukulaelae). We are excited to share their voices, including Tuvalu youth, in their native languages on our upcoming projects, as well as delivering workshops with those who are keen to join! We are starting with our Nukulaelae whānau as they have been regular MANAVA nui attendees, and we are looking forward to expanding organically. Save Tuvalu, save the world!
